Day 25 – 13th June

Happy Birthday Mum!  Here are the kids sending you love for your birthday ;)

We packed up camp this morning and made it over to the western side of the national park to set up camp in Dales Campground.  Here’s home for the next 2-3 days…

When we checked in with the camp hosts they gave the kids a ‘Karajini Junior Rangers’ booklet to complete.  If they hand it back in they get one of those fabric badges saying they are a “Ranger”.  So far the booklet has kept them busy for an hour or so… fingers crossed the allure lasts a while longer…

With only a few hours left in the afternoon we decided to explore the closest pool to camp, Circular Pool.  Here’s the view from the top

More steep steps (where the size of the steps were suitable for an infants’ size shoe) to get to the bottom…  Today we turned left… tomorrow we turn right…

Walking along the base of the gorge…

Circular Pool… very pretty and like everything else in the park, absolutely freezing…

Dave and the kids braved the cold and went for a swim.  I made it in up to my bum… Where we are camping there are toilet facilities but no showers… so it was swim or stay stinky…

The boys jumped in and swam over to the ledge

Megan and I took the easy path and climbed some rocks and braved the super slippery rock ledges to get to the waterfall.  Surprisingly the water coming down the falls was warmer than the ice bath below.  Even though this photo is blurry I needed proof that I got wet too!

Aiden is anti-pink.  I can’t give him a pink plate or bowl at home without a great hissy fit following.  So, you know he’s cold when his exact words were, “I don’t care if it’s pink, just give me a towel”
