Madame sweet tooth

Today at lunch we all sat down at the table to eat our cheese toasties. Aiden and I had been baking in the morning so I placed a plate with some chocolate chip cookies on the table to eat for sweets after our lunch. Megan, who normally has a very healthy appetite, carried on like a pork chop and refused to eat her toast. In exasperation I gave her a cookie and what do you know... she scoffed it down. It turns out that she was refusing to eat the toast because she could see the plate of cookies and THAT was what she wanted...

A mixed day...

...that's what we've had here. Firstly, on a positive note, Dave and I had a few hours of freedom. For his birthday Mum had given him a couple of movie tickets with the promise to babysit so we could actually use them. Today was the day we took her up on her offer. So we dumped the kids on Nana, headed to a nearby restaurant for a quick drink then headed off to the cinema to see this:
Yes - if you were wondering - I have always been a big X-Files fan (love anything sci-fi). The movie was great - they stayed true to the old style of X-Files without getting all fancy or anything. If you used to like the X-Files I'm tipping you'll enjoy the movie too.

So, after our nice little escape we came home to this:

That's Megan fast asleep (and snoring) in Nana's arms. The poor little thing was NOT well at all. She had been grumpy all day but I couldn't see any reason why she was in such a bad mood. Once we got home she continued to get worse and by dinner time she was just this floppy, listless, miserable little girl - but still without any other signs of illness. So I called Health Direct to get some medical advice and I think the nurse was stumped too. About twenty minutes later we were eating dinner when Mum (god bless her) mentioned mumps... and both Dave and I instantly went ch-ching! It turns out that Megan had her MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) immunistaions exactly 12 days ago and the textbook side effects are: 7-12 days after the needle you can get fever, rash & drowsiness. Unfortunately these side effects can last 2-3 days so we may be in for a quiet couple of days. So please send our little girl some healing thoughts...

He is the master of the pancake

It has become a family tradition to have pancakes for breakfast every Sunday - and Dave has certainly mastered the art of the perfect pancake...

A Perfect Day

Our weekend - Part I

Dave had a 4 day weekend so we headed down to Bunbury on Friday to spend a night with our friends, Mike & Paola and their two boys, Christopher & Jonathan. The kids were well behaved and had an awesome time so it turned out to be a fantastic trip away.

Our weekend - Part II

Here are some photos from a quick trip to a local playground

Mike was jumping on this converyor belt so the boys would go flying off in all directions... Aiden must have said 'AGAIN' about a thousand times to Mike.

He calls her...

On occasions Dave & I have called Megan by the nickname, "Missy Moo Megan". Aiden has obviously picked up on this and now it is ALL he says...

Pirate Girl

I have decided to 'dabble' a bit with digital scrapbook pages (done entirely on the computer) - this is my first one...

Sympathy please...

This is my best pirate impression (at least I thought I looked like a pirate until Aiden informed me that, no, I wasn't a PIRATE, I was a GIRL)

The patch is actually because I went and had surgery to remove a lump from my eyelid
