Megan

Megan has hit that age where things start to get interesting.

In this photo she is practising her flying...
This is the first trip in the car after we took her out of the backward facing baby capsule and put her in this forward facing seat - she is MUCH happier in the car now.
Practising her standing (with mum hovering very close nearby ready to catch her at any moment)

A proud Daddy moment - her first beer!

More Megan

Megan is finally starting to get into the whole food thing (after my Child Care Nurse suggested that if I didn't keep her so full of breast milk then she might just show an interest... seems kinda obvious in retrospect...). Just a few days ago we tried her for the first time with this nifty little device. You put some fruit in the mesh bag so she can chomp on it and suck the juice without the risk of choking on the lumpy bits. So far we've only tried watermelon and boy does she love it! You can tell if she likes certain foods by the constant "mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmm" noises she makes while she'e eating (Moule family: very much like what Ben used to do) .
Show me a baby that doesn't like looking at themself in the mirror...

So far I have managed to snap a lot of photos of Megan simply because she was fairly immobile. Unfortunately I think that is about to change... she's now able to crawl?? (if you can call dragging yourself around on your belly a crawl) so I reckon I am now going to have a pile of blurry photos of not one but two children. This is what happens when she spots a nice, shiny, silver camera that looks like it could be a) tasty or b) fun to play with.

Aiden

Just so you don't think that Aiden has been completely neglected here is a photo of him too. It's not my fault (really) that he generally wont sit still for a photo.

Kindred spirits?

So sweet

If you've been following my blog for some time now then it is likely that you've seen previous photos of Aiden cuddling his very small baby sister. Well, she is no longer such a tiny little thing...

I absolutely love these photos

The train, the train

Yep it finally arrived... the Mandurah-Perth railway line has finally opened for business. On the second weekend it was open we took Aiden for his first ride on a train ( a BIG deal for a boy into cars, trucks, trains, etc). We just went to the closest stop to us and rode the train into Mandurah (the next stop on the line) and back again to see how he would go. Of course he loved every minute of it so for the next trip hopefully we can go all the way into the city.

Waiting, waiting... for the train to come
Megan was just brimming with enthusiasm for her first train trip...NOT!

This is one excited boy
The icing on the cake was going through a tunnel

This page is for sweet revenge for all the hard times they've given me... I'm hoping it will still be around to pull out for their 21st birthdays! The top photos were taken of Aiden when he was about 2 1/2 weeks old and the bottom ones are of Megan at 1 1/2 weeks old.

Happy New Year - part 2

Photos taken of Aiden after a haircut in March 2007
Dave all dressed up ready to go to Pete & Lee's wedding (I couldn't go because it was 3 days after Megan finally decided to join us)
Photos taken July 2007

I read an article on an online news site about these 10 steps - they really resonated with me so I wanted to document the list somehow.

The 10 steps are:
1. Count your blessings (be grateful for what you have)
2. Simplify your life (ditch the mobile, etc)
3. Avoid shopping (don't be so materialistic)
4. Exercise
5. Pleasure in the simple tasks (do an easy task well)
6. Set realistic goals
7. Admit mistakes (apparently this makes you feel better??)
8. Avoid commuting (not surprisingly the people who travel the furthest are the unhappiest)
9. Be traditional (traditional values, morals, ethics, etc)
10. Don't try too hard

Happy New Year!

I have started the new year by scrapping up a storm. Here are my latest efforts:
