I
thought I would continue to share my view over my morning coffee. You know you’re close to civilisation and not
in the bush anymore when this is your view…
The promotional blurb on all the El Questro signs says, “A million acres
of wilderness”. Apparently with a
million acres you can’t afford to give people too much space in the campground…
We had time for a couple more adventures before we packed up
and left El Questro. First up the kids
learned how to ride a horse. This was
not the usual sit-on-a-horse-while-we-lead-you-around-by-a-rope type of
ride. They actually taught the kids how
to hold the reins, how to turn the horses and how to make them start and stop
walking.
Here’s Aiden’s I’m-not-so-sure-about-this look
After their lesson they headed out for a wander through the paddocks
By the end even Aiden was relaxed enough to enjoy himself
Another quick visit to Zebedee Springs then at last it was time to not only leave El Questro, but to leave the Gibb River Road.
The Gibb River Road is about 650km from one end to the
other. We have spent exactly four
glorious weeks driving a whopping 2800km in our quest to see everything between
Derby and Kununurra.
Here’s our ‘Top 5 on the Gibb’ list:
1) Manning
Gorge
2) El Questro Gorge
3) Bell Gorge
4) Zebedee Springs
4) Zebedee Springs
5) Dave & Aiden – Galvin’s Gorge / Sara &
Megan – Mornington & Charnley River Wilderness Camps
After 2800km of lumpy, bumpy, dusty, gravel roads we are finally on the bitumen again…

Thank you Sara, your effort and sharing are really appreciated. I've spent the last few hours going through your blog - better than watching television or even reading a book! Lots of love to all of you
Good stuff BK family. Slowly picking my way through the photos.
