Mandurah Quays

We headed over to Mandurah Quays this morning for a walk/ride/treasure hunt.  Dave and I worked out that we hadn't been there for several years... I had forgotten how nice a spot it is.  We also managed to find a local geocache adding to the adventure for the kids.

It seems like every time I write on my blog it's to tell you about the million excuses why I haven't written more often!  Anyway, my excuse this time is that I have been really sick... as well as the chest flu thing that everyone else has had, I have also had a sinus infection for about 5 weeks now... I have been in a world of pain the last couple of weeks.  Poor Dave has had to deal with tired, cranky children as well as a tired, cranky and in tears wife...

On a positive note, Hank & Vicki are coming for a visit!  We're now on the countdown... 4 weeks to go...

When we drove from Holland down to Paris we stopped in Antwerp (Belgium) for morning tea then in Lille (France) for lunch...

Merit Certificate

The Friday before last, Aiden received his very first Merit Certificate at school. He even got to stand up in front of the entire assembly to receive it. To say he was chuffed with himself is an understatement! Yes, we were pretty chuffed (& proud) too...

If you're wondering why he's a tiger and the Deputy Principal is a scarecrow, it was Book Week Dress Up day.

Yesterday was a milestone day in the BK household... Aiden rode his bike without trainer wheels for the first time ever!  Of course, I didn't have a camera with me yesterday, but I managed to get some happy snaps today when we went up to the park to practice.

How much fun was this? We went to a fishing village called 'Volendam' and got all dressed up in traditional Dutch costumes just for this photo. Do we look like a nice Dutch family?

I don't know if you can see but we all have the traditional clogs on too... and no, they are not comfortable nor easy to walk in!

We're home

I know, I know.  Some of you had hoped to track the progress of our holiday while we were there.  But we were so busy!  For the last couple of weeks we were up and out on the road first thing and we weren't getting home till 7-8pm.  I really didn't spend any time at home, let alone on my computer to keep up with my blog posts... so sorry about that ;)
